- This is Jo Davison’s website. It is run by The Spinal Health Centre Limited, the company that trades as Blue Cow Practice.
- If you email us or write to us, we use what you send to reply to you. We don’t sell it and we don’t use it for advertising.
- We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used, but only if you agree. Until you do, nothing is stored in your browser for it and nothing is sent to Google.
- You have rights over your information, and you can complain to us or to the regulator.

Jo Davison and Steve Davison are the company’s directors. The company is responsible for the personal information it receives through this website. The law calls this being the “controller”. In this notice, “we” and “us” mean the company.

We have not appointed a data protection officer, because the law does not require us to have one.
What we collect, and why
If you email us or write to us
This website shows our email address and our office address, on our contact page and at the bottom of every page, so that you can get in touch.
What we receive: your email address or postal address, your name, and whatever you choose to tell us.
What we do with it: we read it, reply, and deal with what you have asked about, for example working with Jo, a programme, a talk or a press request.
Our legal reason: our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us and in running our business. If you are asking about working with Jo or joining a programme, we are also taking steps you have asked for before any agreement is made.
Our forms
Our contact, speaking and mailing-list forms aren’t available on this website yet. Until they are, please email us. Before any of them goes live, we’ll update this notice to explain what happens to what you send through it.
Please leave out health information
This website is about Jo’s work with chiropractors, not about treatment. We don’t need information about your health to answer an enquiry, so please don’t include any, and please never include details about patients. If you are looking for chiropractic care, please contact a clinic directly.
If you include health information anyway, we will use it only to reply to you and won’t use it for anything else.
Server logs
Like every website, ours runs on servers that keep a log of requests: the internet address a request came from, the page asked for, the time, and the type of browser. These logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and our hosting provider keeps them for a short period before they are deleted.
Our legal reason: our legitimate interest in the security and proper running of this website.
If you agree to analytics cookies
What we use: Google Analytics, a service from Google, to count visits and see how people use the site, so we can see what’s working and improve it.
It only runs if you agree. A banner asks you on your first visit. Until you choose, and if you say no, Google Analytics isn’t loaded at all: nothing is stored in your browser for it and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
If you agree, it records:
- the pages you visit, their addresses and titles, when you visit, how long you stay and how far down each page you scroll,
- the website or link that brought you here,
- where you are, to the level of your town or city,
- details of your device and browser, for example the type, make and model of your device, its operating system, your browser, the versions of each, your screen size and your language setting,
- the links you follow to other websites, including files such as the PDFs we link to, which book and which Amazon store if you click through to Amazon, and whether you click to book a call or to email us,
- the words you search for, if you use the site’s search, and
- a random number, stored in a cookie, so that repeat visits count as one visitor.
Contact details in the pages you view. Our Google Analytics settings include a Google feature called user-provided data collection. While Google Analytics runs, it looks in the pages you view for email addresses, phone numbers, names and postal addresses, and it can send what it finds to Google in a scrambled form called a hash. A hash is designed so that it can’t be read, but it can be matched with the same details held elsewhere, so the law still treats it as personal information. The pages of this website show only details we publish, such as our own email and office addresses, so they have none of yours to find unless you search this website for your own details.
Our legal reason: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing doesn’t affect anything done before.
No advertising. We don’t use Google Analytics for advertising. Our set-up tells Google that you haven’t agreed to advertising cookies, to your information being used for advertising or to personalised ads, and Google signals, which can link visits to people’s Google accounts, is off. Google says that when a website tells it this, it switches off the collection of personal data for online advertising, including scrambled contact details.
Google’s part: Google provides Google Analytics to us as a service provider, under its data processing terms. Google also explains that it uses information from websites that use its services to provide, maintain and improve its services and to protect against fraud and abuse, and that where a website asks for your consent, as we do, it respects the purposes you agreed to. It sets this out in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your internet address: your browser sends it to Google when Google Analytics runs, as it does whenever you visit any website. Google says that for visitors in the UK, the European Union and Switzerland it uses the address only to work out where you are, to the level of your town or city, and then discards it without logging or storing it.
If you withdraw your consent, analytics stops straight away and we delete its cookies from your browser. Within one month, we also ask Google to delete the analytics information linked to them.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, tracking pixels or social media plug-ins on this website, and no analytics unless you agree to it. Our cookie notice explains more.
- We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with other organisations for their own marketing.
- We don’t make decisions about you by automated means.
- We don’t take payments on this website. If you buy a book or a programme, you do it on another website, and that website’s own privacy notice applies.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers, who handle information for us. Google’s own uses of what it receives through Google Analytics are explained above.

Information sent outside the UK
- Hostinger: the servers for this website are in the United Kingdom. Hostinger itself is based in Cyprus, in the European Union, which UK law recognises as protecting personal information to an adequate standard.
- Google may handle our email outside the UK, including in the United States. Where it does, it relies on safeguards recognised by UK law, which are set out in its data processing terms.
- Google Analytics, if you agree to it: information from visitors in the UK is collected first on Google’s servers in the UK, the European Union or Switzerland. Google may then handle it outside the UK, including in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which UK law recognises as protecting information sent to certified US companies, and Google uses standard contractual clauses where they are needed.

How long we keep it

Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask what information we hold about you and get a copy of it,
- have it corrected if it is wrong,
- ask us to delete it,
- ask us to limit what we do with it while a concern is sorted out,
- object to us using it where we rely on our legitimate interests,
- stop our marketing emails at any time, with no reason needed,
- withdraw your consent where we rely on it, without affecting anything done before, and
- receive it in a portable form where you gave it to us and we rely on your consent or on an agreement with you.
Some of these rights have limits, and if one applies we will explain it.
To use any of them, email hello@bluecowpractice.com with “Data protection” in the subject line, or write to the postal address above. It is free. We will reply within one month. If your request is complex we may need up to two more months, and if so we will tell you why within the first month. We may ask you to confirm who you are, so that we never give your information to someone else.
Analytics information. Google Analytics doesn’t tell us who you are, so we can’t find your analytics information from your name or email address. The simplest way to have it deleted is to withdraw your consent using Cookie settings: we then delete the cookies from your browser and ask Google to delete the information linked to them.
Complaints
Please come to us first. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, tell us by:
- emailing hello@bluecowpractice.com with “Data protection complaint” in the subject line, or
- writing to Data protection, Blue Cow Practice, Orchard House, 33 Colchester Road, Great Totham, Maldon, Essex, CM9 8DG.
We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, keep you updated, and tell you the outcome without undue delay.
You can also complain to the regulator. The UK’s data protection regulator is known as the ICO: the Information Commissioner’s Office up to 29 September 2026, and the Information Commission from 30 September 2026. It usually expects you to have raised your concern with us first.
